Ben Stein Can?t Contemplate How a Man Without a Weapon Could Force a Woman to Have Sex
Ben Stein has a lot of strange thoughts about the sexual assault case of Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Today, he stuffed as many of them as he could come up with into a piece for the American Spectator. Here is but one of them:
The prosecutors say that Mr. Strauss-Kahn "forced" the complainant to have oral and other sex with him. How? Did he have a gun? Did he have a knife? He's a short fat old man. They were in a hotel with people passing by the room constantly, if it's anything like the many hotels I am in. How did he intimidate her in that situation? And if he was so intimidating, why did she immediately feel un-intimidated enough to alert the authorities as to her story?
This man once wrote speeches for presidents.

Feedback Request for using NuGet Without Committing Packages
When installing a package into a project, NuGet creates a packages.config file within the project (if it doesn?t already exist) which is an exact record of the packages that are installed in the project. At the same time, a folder for the package is created within the solution level packages folder containing the package and its contents.
Currently, it?s expected that the packages folder is committed to source control. The reason for this is that certain files from the package, such as assemblies, are referenced from their location in the packages folder. The benefit of this approach is that a package that is installed into multiple projects does not create multiple copies of the package nor the assembly. Instead, all of the projects reference the same assembly in one location.
If you commit the entire solution and packages folder into source contral, and another user gets latest from source control, they are in the same state you are in. If you omitted the the packages folder, the project would fail to build because the referenced assembly would be missing.
However
This approach doesn?t work for everyone. We?ve heard from many folks that they don?t want their packages folder to be checked into their source control.
Fortunately, you can enable this workflow today by following David Ebbo?s approach described in his blog post, Using NuGet without committing Packages.
But in NuGet 1.4 we?re planning to make it integrated into NuGet. We will be adding a new feature to restore any missing packages and the packages folder based on the packages.config file in each project when you attempt to build the project. This ensures that your application will compile even if the packages folder is missing at the time, which might be the case if you don?t commit it to source control.
Requirements
We have certain requirements we plan to meet with this feature. Primarily, it has to work in a Continuous Integration (CI Server) scenario. So it must work both within Visual Studio when you build, but also outside of Visual Studio when you use msbuild.exe to compile the solution.
For more details, please refer to:
If you have feedback on the design of this feature, please provide it in the discussion thread. Also, do keep in mind that this next release is our first iteration to address this scenario. We think we?ll hit the primary use cases, but we may not get everything. But don?t worry, we?ll continue to release often and address scenarios that we didn?t anticipate.
Thanks for your support!

Playboy outs pricing for TouchPad and Pre3?
Looking forward to getting yourself an HP TouchPad and Pre3 smartphone, no matter the cost? Thanks to Playboy magazine (we read it for the articles, people), we might have a better idea of what these upcoming webOS devices are going to cost. According to a feature on new and upcoming technology bits, Playboy states the price of the Pre3 as being $200 with a contract, and the TouchPad sitting pretty at $500. They even go so far as to call webOS underrated when talking about the TouchPad – in fact in both entries they talk about how awesome webOS is instead of having to rely on pesky things like specs (ignore the "11.5-inch display" at the start, that's talking about something else, probably a laptop).
Of course, it’s possible that Playboy is just speculating here, but the prices are in line with what we’re expecting for both devices. Naked women and new gadgets; it’s like Playboy knows their target audience or something.

Divorce Parties Are the New Wedding Parties
Charles and Bonnie Bronfman have been married for three years, but they're already ready to have another big bash celebrating their relationship. After all, what better time to have a party than at the start of something ... and at the end? "As we change the parameters of our relationship, our mutual admiration and caring is constant," they wrote on engraved cards to 100 of their friends and relatives, inviting them to a cocktail event to celebrate their divorce. "Our differences were in everything we do. We thought those differences could mesh, but we found out the opposite," explained Charles. "So we thought, why not tell our friends and thank them for helping us out?" You've gotta admit, it's a pretty ballsy way to go through a high-society split — the goal must be to make sure that instead of talking about what might have gone wrong, everyone will talk about the strangeness of the party. So is it working? From the Times:
"She must have had a great prenuptial," said one socialite, who requested anonymity since she was not familiar with the financials.
Well, close enough.
